The PCA will be inviting guests with a key interest in the potential for payment by results contracts for delivering rehabilitation services, and exploring some of the main issues surrounding this topic. Very limited spaces are available for this event, and are restricted to specially invited guests only.

PCA/NOMs workshop; Evaluating the Reflective Supervision Model, and what this means for senior managers

The workshop will raise awareness of reflective practice in promoting an offender engagement culture to reduce reoffending.  Paul Turnbull, Senior Research Fellow and Co-Director of the Institute for Criminal Policy Research (ICPR), Birkbeck, University of London, will be the key speaker. Invitations have been sent via Chief Executives of Probation Trusts, and circulated around NOMs and the MoJ.

Probation Awards 2012: Winners and finalists

The Probation Chiefs Association would like to offer its congratulations to the winners and finalists of this year’s Probation Awards 2012.  Held at Crewe Hall, Nathalie Allard, a Probation Officer for Leicestershire & Rutland Probation Trust, was named Probation Champion of the Year 2012.

Michael Spurr, NOMS Chief Executive Officer selected Nathalie as the overall winner from the seven categories, one of which – Public Protection – she won. Her prizes and certificate of achievement were presented by Crispin Blunt MP, Probation Minister.  Read the full awards line up.

Developing Professionalisation in Probation Services

The PCA and PA are sponsoring a workshop on “Developing Professionalisation in Probation Services workshop programme”  on 15 June at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham,  to discuss an issue of critical importance to the delivery of probation work in the future.  The objective of the workshop is to consider the case and help develop options for the establishment of a professional register and the development of a professional framework.  It is aimed at  CEOs Board Chairs and members, and senior leaders.
