Merseyside Probation Trust wins UK Excellence Award

The PCA would like to congratulate Merseyside Probation Trust for winning the British Quality Foundation’s ‘UK Excellence Awards 2012′. The award is not only fantastic news for Merseyside Probation Trust but also for probation nationally.

The UK Excellence Award is one of the highest accolades any organisation in the UK can achieve.  Launched in 1994, it recognises organisations which have demonstrated excellence in all areas of operation.Entrants for the award were assessed against the EFQM Excellence Model, Europe’s leading management framework. It enables organisations to assess their degree of excellence, and helps them to understand their key strengths and the areas in which they need to improve.

Merseyside Probation Trust is the only public sector agency ever to have succeeded in obtaining this award, and was up against four other finalists, namely:

  • First Transpennine Express
  • Interserve Construction Ltd
  • Northern Rail
  • Wherry Housing Association

The winners were announced at the 2012 UK Excellence Award ceremony in London on Thursday 25 October 2012 by the Foundation’s patron, HRH The Princess Royal.
